Girls is a new series on HBO about post grad, 20something girls living in New York, and dealing with all the challenges that come with it. Of course, that includes getting by on a budget, something we can definitely relate to.
According to Girls costume designer Jenn Rogien, she
pulled a ton of the wardrobe from Beacon's, "We were probably at Beacon's Closet for every episode because it's the right stuff, that's where those girls would go."

behind the scenes : at the drink
While we put a lot of work into the styling, hair, make-up, production, and photography of our front page looks, some locations just make everything look good. For this week's
look we were fortunate to get daytime access to shoot in one of Brooklyn's most picturesque bars, The Drink (
www.thedrinkbrooklyn.com).
The entire bar was built from reclaimed materials sourced from the owners' families and friends. The ceiling is wallpapered in vintage nautical maps. The front window (where you can see our model Rachel reclining) was overlaid with antique stained glass.
The backyard features a beautiful whitewashed fence covered with antique buoys and other sailing ephemera. Frequented by musicians, The Drink often features low-key live music, aided and abetted by the upright piano which occupies a cozy nook in the middle of the bar. So if you need to unwind after a shopping spree at our Williamsburg location, get yourself to The Drink and transport yourself to a cheery harbor where you can replenish your energies, and model your new finds in a setting worthy of their style.
